Singh Mobile Mechanic is a fully equipped workshop on wheels. Brakes, batteries, starters, diagnostics, oil and filters — done at your home, your office parking lot, or the shoulder of the 427. No tow, no shop queue, no waiting room.
Singh Mobile Mechanic started the way most good trades do — out of a driveway on Mt Olive Drive, fixing neighbours' cars on weekends because the shops on Rexdale Boulevard were booked three weeks out and charging dealership rates for work that takes an afternoon.
The van is the shop. It carries a two-tonne jack and stands, a full socket and torque set, an OBD-II scanner, a brake lathe, a fluid extractor, and a deep-cycle jump pack. That means the majority of what a garage does to a car can happen in your parking spot: pads and rotors, calipers, batteries and alternators, starters, belts, water pumps, spark plugs, coils, sensors, oil and filters, tire swaps and seasonal changeovers.
What we can't do in a driveway, we say so up front. Anything needing a hoist, a lift, a wheel alignment rack, or a transmission teardown gets an honest referral to a shop we trust — and we'll tell you what the job should cost before you go, so nobody talks you into more than you need.
The hours are unusual on purpose. Monday is the only closed day. Every other day runs around the clock, because cars don't break down on a schedule. A no-start at 2 a.m. before a shift at the airport, a brake grinding on the way home from a night shift, a battery that gave up in a January cold snap — those are the calls we built this around.
Pricing is quoted before the work starts, in plain numbers, over the phone or at the vehicle. No diagnostic fee that quietly becomes a repair bill. No upsell on filters you replaced last spring. If a part is still good, we'll tell you it's still good and put it back.
We work on most makes and models — Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Mazda, Ford, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, Subaru, BMW and Mercedes included. Older high-mileage cars are genuinely welcome here; a good share of our regulars are 200,000 km-plus commuters who'd rather keep a paid-off car running than take on a payment.
Payment is by cash, e-transfer, or card at the vehicle. Parts are sourced same-day from suppliers in Rexdale and North York, so most repairs are a single visit rather than a drop-off-and-wait.
What we fix
Everything below is done at your location. If you don't see your job listed, call and describe the symptom — we'll tell you straight whether it's a driveway job.
Pads, rotors, calipers, brake lines and fluid. We measure pad depth and rotor thickness in front of you and show you the numbers before anything is replaced. Squealing, grinding, a soft pedal or a pull to one side all get looked at the same day.
Testing, boosting, terminal cleaning and replacement. We load-test the battery and check the alternator's charging output before selling you a new one — plenty of "dead batteries" are really a loose ground or a tired alternator.
Full OBD-II scan with live data, not just a code read. We trace the fault to the actual component — a P0420 isn't always the catalytic converter, and a misfire code isn't always the coil. You get the code, the cause, and the cost to fix it.
Conventional, synthetic blend or full synthetic, plus oil filter, air filter, cabin filter, coolant, brake fluid and washer fluid. Old oil is collected and recycled properly — nothing goes down a storm drain.
No-crank, slow-crank, a belt squealing on cold mornings, a battery light that comes and goes. Starter motors, alternators, serpentine and timing belts, tensioners and idler pulleys — all replaceable in a driveway on most models.
Winter-to-summer changeovers, rotations, pressure and tread depth checks, and honest pre-purchase inspections for anyone buying a used car in the west end. We'll tell you to walk away from a car if that's the right call.
The process

You get a number before we roll, and a realistic arrival window. If the job needs a shop with a hoist, we'll say so and point you somewhere honest instead of taking the booking.
Home driveway, condo garage, office lot, or roadside. All we need is enough room to work safely on one side of the car and permission to be there.
You see the old parts, the measurements, and the finished job. Payment by cash, e-transfer or card at the vehicle. No shop fee, no disposal fee surprises.

Highway breakdowns on the 401, 427, 409 and 400 are covered too — pull well onto the shoulder, put your hazards on, and call. If it's unsafe to work roadside, we'll arrange the tow instead of risking it.
